Our Birthdays

So, our birthdays are in August. Doby is on the 5th and Lola is on the 13th. We hope we get lots of presents. Last night mom and dad were talking about it right in front of us! They thought we were too distracted wrestling to hear them. tricked ya! Anyway, they don't know what they are going to get us, but they better step on it! Time is a tickin'. Perhaps we can come up with a wish list to help them out.

Let's go work on that.

We will return later with wish lists...

My Pillows

Dear Mom,
Usually I get to sleep on the top of the pillows and Doby sleeps down on the bed next to you. Lately, he has been trying to steal my pillows, so I just lay down on the bed. Then, he will try to push me over and steal my spot again. Can you please make him stop? Maybe as punishment you should just kick him off of the bed completely. That would be a great day. :)

HEY!

Hey guys!
We've been MIA lately. Mom has been out at a camp or something all week and didn't tell us the password to the computer. She got home on Saturday and we have been snuggling and sleeping a lot since then. It has been super great!

We have a lot of catching up to do around here.

Busy Busy BUSY

Is it Tuesday already? We have just been SOOO busy the past few days. Dad was out of town, now mom is out of town and we just haven't had any time to get on the web!

We haven't had too much exciting stuff going on. We just miss our mom. But at least we get to sleep on her side of the bed while she is gone. Dad takes us on long walks, but we don't always like them because it is SO hot. He told us that he saw mom yesterday and she said that she loves us and misses us. (and to give us extra treats, dad!)

Anyway, we gotta run. Lola thinks she hears someone outside that we need to go bark at.

Toodaloo!!

Sleepy Mornings

First thing in the morning and mom already had her camera out. She keeps it handy so she can snap pictures at any moment. She is so crazy. We were just trying to sleep and she had to wake us up to take pictures.

Mom is leaving and going out of town tomorrow, but dad gets home, so now we get some alone time with dad. He isn't as much fun as mom, but I guess he will do. (just kidding, we really love them equal)

Anyway, we gotta go and give mom some kisses. She is still sorta mad at us from the other night.

Trouble

So, I'm pretty sure that mom is not very happy with Doby and me today. You see, last night we weren't very sleepy and so we just played the entire night. Mom doesn't care usually, except that we played on the bed and woke her up a lot and then we chewed some things up (like the blankets on the bed) and we busted open one of our balls and mom woke up and saw us eating it. But once she got out of bed to go to work, we went to sleep.
Like I said, I'm pretty sure that mom is upset with us today. Maybe if we sing her a song when she gets home, she won't be upset anymore.
I better go find Doby and get to working on it.
Love,
Lola

Doby's Dogtionary

I've come up with some new words to share with everyone.
Today's theme: boxes

CAMERA- big box-like object that sometimes shines a light on you; you must look at it and smile or it won't go away; I think most moms like these things, but I'm not sure why

PHONE- a little box that you talk to; you can press things on it and it makes a lot of noise; don't try to chew this because your parents will get really mad

¡Hola Friends!

Hello Everybody!
What a wonderful weekend we have had. We were so busy that we didn't even have time to write on here. Well first, Doby went to the vet on Friday. We already told you all about that. He is still fine and trying to get all the sympathy votes he can get.

Then, Saturday, we let mom and dad sleep in for a while and we slept, too. We are so kind to them. Then they were gone a lot during the day we always hate that part. But when mom got home she had new treats and new toys!!! THEN, she helped us find all our toys we've lost under the couch. It was like getting 10 new toys all in one day!!!! It was the best!

Sunday wasn't too exciting. We just slept a lot, but that's what we do best. Oh, and dad did take us on a long walk. We love those!

Don't be too jealous of our great weekend! haha

The Vet

Today I went to the doctor. I had this big bump on my chest and mom was FREAKING out (as usual). So I went and he sucked some stuff out with a needle and looked at it. He said it wasn't that big of a deal. So basically, he just gave me a little lipo-suction. I also learned that I gained some weight, so the lipo was a good thing I suppose.

At least I got to ride in the car!!

New Site

Hey guys. A lot has changed on our blog today.
First of all, we changed all the colors. Black and white was getting so boring.
Secondly, we now have our own domain name. www.dobyandlola.com
Isn't that so cool?
What do you think??

Pictures With Mom

Aloha!

Hello all!

What has been going on in our lives, you ask? We have been so busy with Doby’s Dogtionary and such that we have hardly told you any good stories lately. Well first of all, our uncle Brad has been here for the past few days. He is really fun. He takes us on loooong walks and his socks are really fun to chew on (and he never notices when we take them). He was supposed to leave last night, but all the sudden, he was back at our house. Something about an airplane and it being cancelled. (gotta figure out what an airplane is… or maybe it’s “hair-pain”) Anyway, he is gone now, so that is sad. Dad leaves in like a week to go somewhere and them after he gets back mom leaves! What a crazy time!!

Lately, it has been really hot outside. Lola got to go to the beach last Friday, but mom’s camera is broken and she can’t get the pictures off. Mom is always running around with that stinkin’ camera.

Anyway, gotta go and see if Uncle Brad forgot any of his socks.

Taste Test- Take 2

For round 2 of our taste testing we decided to with: the carpet, dryer sheets & actual dog toys.

Carpet- 4, doesn’t taste very good, but there is plenty of it to chew

Dryer Sheets- 9, one of our favorite things to chew

Dog Toys- 6, mom & dad never chase us when we are chewing dog toys. That takes half the fun out of it

What do all of you pups out there like to chew on?

Taste Test- Take 1

Occasionally, and it is very rare (not!). We like to eat different things in the house and see what they taste like. We would like to let everyone know what we think about these different items that we chew up.

Computer cords, in general, are not that great. They are really easy to chew through and mom and dad always seem to get REALLY mad about those. We think they cost a lot.
Mac computer cord- 6, could have been a little bit thicker
HP computer cord (we ate this one twice because we weren’t sure the first time)- 7, good thickness, but still a computer cord.

Dad’s sneakers- 9, rather tasty, lots of fabric to chew on
Mom’s flip flops- 5, not that great and it always makes mom sad

Doby's Dogtionary (Fourth of July Edition)

New words:

FIREWORKS- loud; must bark at them to make them go away; they appear in the sky out of nowhere; only happen a couple of times a year (I haven’t figured out why yet)

“FOURTH OF JULY”- party time; beach time; get to eat lots of treats time; family time; lots of flags and those firework things; lots of loud music

Doby is a computer hog

Hello Everyone!
I'm sure you all have been wondering where I am. Well, Doby thinks he is SOO smart all the sudden and has been hogging the computer and I haven't been able to write to everyone! I'll tell you a secret... he isn't THAT smart... I taught him everything he knows. :)

Anyway, Fourth of July is tomorrow. I'm not sure what mom and dad have planned, but hopefully something fun. Dad's brother is here in town, too. He got here last night. Doby and I barked at him a lot; it is pretty funny. In fact, we played a lot last night. Mom and dad were pretty mad at us because we kept them up the whole night. But luckily we get to take naps all day while they are at work. What a great life to live!

Love,
The Princess Pug

Question from Fiona

Okay, Doby, because you are Super Smart, I've got a question for you: what, exactly is Mom doing when she says that she is "Busy Doing Stuff"?!? What does that mean (other than that we are going to park, rather than on a hike?)?!?I anxiously await your response!

*kissey face*
-Fiona

Fiona-
First of all, a hike sounds horrible. Especially in the summer. Of course, I do live in south Florida so just once around the block and I am SUPER hot & tired. Anyway, to answer your question. “Busy doing stuff” simply means that your Mom is spending time playing with her toys. My mom does this often. Things like “work” or “stuff for school” or things like that. I’m not sure why they want to play with those things. They don’t squeak or bounce or anything like that. Mom’s are just silly I guess.

More Words for Doby's Dogtionary

I have been trying to come up with some more words for my dogtionary. Here are some words I have decided to add...

LEASH- (also see "torture") this is a long string that attaches to your collar or harness; used to make you follow your human around everywhere they go; forces you to look like you enjoy walking with your human; we aren't allowed outside without them

TREATS- the best thing in the entire world; my reason to live; usually tasty; you get them when you look really cute and when you "sit" when mom & dad tell you too

Twix's Foster Friend

Yesterday our friend Twix asked me this question...

Doby, maybe you will tell me the truth...I don't think mom and dad are being honest with me. What does it really mean when your parents "foster" a dog? Take a peek at my blog if you want more specifics. Love and hugs, Twix

Check out Twix's Blog

Twix,
A foster friend is sometimes good. Your foster friend looks good to me. I was once an only child too, and very spoiled. It was really great, but now I have Lola and she is my best friend! Sometimes foster dogs have to go back and somebody else will take them, but just think... you MAY get to have a new BEST FRIEND! But if you don't keep Scooter, then you just got to have a friend for a few days and then back to peace and quiet. Just make sure he know's you're the boss (I lost that fight with Lola)!

Either way it is a win-win. :)

Best of luck with your foster friend!
-Doby
(P.S.- You are really pretty in your new yellow dress)

Doby's Dogtionary

Today...
Anonymous said...
Dear Doby & Lola,You both give such great answers, I have a question for you. What is rain? Where does it come from? Why does it rain?

"Anonymous'" question has led me to the idea that I will start my own "dogtionary," since I am the smartest dog around and all.
My first word...

RAIN- (also see "gross") a wet substance that falls from the sky and also comes up from the ground and gets all over you; creates pawprints everywhere and also MUD; usually occurs when you really need to go outside; caused by God sneezing
